A road rally is a scavenger-hunt-style event that is similar to "The Amazing Race," that is suitable for all drivers. The competition is based on accuracy not speed.  Participants sign up as a team (one driver and a co-driver), with a goal of navigating the course from start to finish while solving clues along the way - then arriving at the final destination within the allotted time.

Our road rally scavenger hunt requires each team to decode clues while still maintaining the most efficient travel time possible. The event will cover nearly 500 miles throughout Maine over two days. The rally is open to all makes and models of vehicles and drivers of every level.  Anyone is welcome to compete or choose not to compete and just enjoy the scenery, the unique stops we’ve planned, and a fun day of driving.

The Rally will be limited to 40 cars that are raising money for Camp Sunshine.

Each day, we have selected six or seven checkpoints along the route which you will be given clues in order to locate.  A point value has been assigned to each of these checkpoints. Teams will have the opportunity to score additional points for a multitude of regional “scavenger hunt items” along the way.  For those choosing to be competitive this is where the real strategy lies!  You will need to maximize points while managing time and the distance required to complete each leg under the finishing time. (Please click on the Rules tab to see a complete list of rally regulations.)

Rally days typically cover between 200 and 250 miles. Overnight accommodations, meals, and fuel will be the responsibility of each team but group rates have been secured at the start and conclusion of the first day. We suggest you book early in order to receive these discounts.

The registration fee of $150 per team includes your vehicle’s decal kit and 2 team shirts. Additionally, each team is required to raise a minimum of $250 in support of Camp Sunshine for a total of $400. Teams will also be responsible for their own overnight accommodations, meals and fuel.

Please be aware of current State of Maine Guidelines for out of state visitors prior to registering. https://www.maine.gov/covid19/restartingmaine/keepmainehealthy/faqs. Currently the states exempted from quarantine or testing requirements are CT, NH, NJ, NY and VT.
